Ray Roman, an award winning wedding cinematographer from South Florida, was in New Jersey today at the request of the New Jersey Videography Association to put on an all day workshop for wedding videographers in the area. There were about thirty of us cramped in a hotel room looking for techniques that could make us better at our craft. I always come away with a half dozen or so good ideas. We spent the morning watching how Ray shoots bridal and groom prep and how and when he uses his steadicam and slider.
In the afternoon, he edited together what he had shot in the morning, lectured and presented several of his completed films. I, of course, video taped the entire workshop to review it all over again at a later date. There's always something new to learn... and why not learn from one of the best.
